Can I nominate someone? How do I do so?
Nominations are open to the public each year in May. Stay tuned to sustainPHL.com or Green Philly for the nomination form.
Who is eligible for nominations?
Individuals, businesses, government and civic organizations, and non-profits. Anyone or any company that is truly making a difference in Philadelphia.
How many nominees or categories will there be?
9 categories.
What do nominees receive?
Nominees will score a free tickets to SustainPHL to enjoy the evening, and lucky award recipients will receive an award. In addition, they’ll be featured on Green Philly & SustainPHL’s website.
How are nominees determined?
SustainPHL has a subcommittee of sustainability experts for voting on the nominees. The online nomination forms are reviewed by the subcommittee and scored on several data points to have an overall average score. The top 3 average scores in each category receive a nomination. (With rare occasions of a tie, we may have 4 to a category.)
Who votes on the finalists?
A committee of sustainability experts, the previous SustainPHL year’s award recipients, and the SustainPHL committee. Voting is based on the peer nomination form and a self-evaluation form filled out by the nominees.
Why don’t you have public/open voting?
We want to highlight a variety of nominees. In order to avoid a popularity contest based on social media followers or PR firms, we carefully ask local sustainability experts from leading organizations (including and in the past) Office of Sustainability, ImpactPHL, Green Building United and Sustainable Business Network for their time to review candidates based on their nomination forms and have an unbiased, merit-based system.

Will there be food & drink?
Absolutely. Catering will offer heavy hors d’oeuvres including appetizers, sandwiches & small plates. Enjoy an open bar and samplings from our favorite local businesses.
Do I have to be 21?
Yes, this is a 21-and-over event.
What is the dress code?
Cocktail attire is recommended.
