Hometown Hero: In Memory of Kyle Shenandoah

2020 was a challenging year in many ways including the pandemic, economic instability, racial injustice, and climate. Although we could not host SustainPHL in person In 2020, there are exceptional Philadelphians that deserve recognition of their efforts rising above and beyond.

Kyle Shenandoah, a community advocate, was tragically struck and killed by a moving car on August 21st, 2019. Shenandoah was recognized by his peers in the sustainability community as the SustainPHL 2019 neighborhood champion award recipient a few weeks prior. We wanted to honor his memory with an award in 2020.
